Goddess Shailputri also known as the Daughter of the Himalayas is worshipped on this day.
In Sanskrit Shail means the mountain and due to which Goddess was known as Shailputri, the daughter of the mountain.
The mount of Goddess Shailputri is bull and because of that she is also known as Vrisharudha.
Goddess Shailputri is depicted with two hands. She carries Trishul in the right hand and the lotus flower in the left hand.
The little nose-in contains a vibrant marigold yellow and a pale pink alyssum flower with emerald green enamelling detail.
